Design Email Campaign

After you create an email campaign in TicketReach, you can add content and design it with layouts, elements, colors, images, and text.

To start designing, select the DESIGN EMAIL button on the Create Email Campaign page of your Ticket Reach account.

A window opens with available design templates.

Choose one of the available templates to create a layout for your message. When you select a template, the Email Builder tool opens with the template and placeholder elements already set up for you.

To design a message from a blank page rather than starting with a template, select the CREATE FROM SCRATCH button in the top right corner of the templates window to open a blank email layout in the Email Builder tool.

The Email Builder tool page is split into a left and right side. The left side of the Email Builder tool includes all of the template editor components. The right side displays the email layout and content automatically as you design your message. You can drag and drop the elements on the left to the layout on the right to design your message.

Above the email layout and content area are several buttons. At the top left are undo and redo buttons. In the center are buttons to switch between building your message using a desktop computer layout or a mobile device layout. On the top right is an eye icon. Click it to preview your message as recipients will see it on their desktop or mobile devices at multiple screen resolutions.

To add components drag them from the left side components area and drop them into your design in the layout area. Note that you have to add Block components first to create your layout. Then, you can add other components to the block components such as content and image components.

To delete components, click on a component in your design and select the trash icon.

To move components, hover your mouse over a row to reveal the drag handle on the right of the component. Click and drag using the drag handle, then drop the component where you want it to go.

To save your email campaign design, select the CONFIRM & CLOSE button in the top right corner of the page.

To close the email builder tool without saving your work, select the Exit Builder button in the top right corner of the page

TEMPLATE EDITOR COMPONENTS

The various email design components that you can drag and drop into your email campaign layout are separated into five categories on the left side of the Email Builder tool:

  • Content
  • Blocks
  • Body
  • Images
  • Uploads

Click on a category to display the various design components available in that section.

CONTENT

The Content components enable you to add various types of text, image, HTML, and other content into your email design.

Columns

Each of the Columns components works the same way as the components available in the Blocks category. You must have a column component or block component in your design in order to drag other types of components, such as text or images, into your design.

Drag and drop the column layout you want to use to the desired spot in your design to add content in one or more columns. You can drag multiple column components to your design, and then drag text, image, or other components to the columns to add content to them. Each column component that you drag to your design will be inserted as a new row in the design layout.

There are eight 1-column, 2-column, 3-column, and 4-column layouts to choose from.

Once you select the column layout, you can make changes to how your design looks using the Column Properties tools. Click on the column component in your email design to open the settings options. For example, you can set the column background and border colors, adjust padding around columns, and add images to columns.

Button

Use the Button component to add a clickable button that opens a web page, sends an email, or makes a phone call when someone clicks on it. This is called an action.

Drag and drop the Button component to the spot you want it to appear in your email design. Once it’s placed and you configure the action that happens when someone clicks on it, you can also edit the size, font, color, alignment, spacing, and other design settings.

Divider

Drag the Divider component into a block or column to add a divider to your design. Once added, you can adjust the divider appearance, size, color, and more.

Heading

The Heading component makes it quick and easy to add large headline-style text to your email message. Just drag the component to your design layout and click on it to adjust the font, size, color, alignment, spacing, and more.

Paragraph

Drag the Paragraph component into your email design to add longer text. Once you drop the component where you want it, click on it to adjust the text, size, color, font, alignment, spacing, and more.

Image

Use the Image component to add an image to your email message. Click on the component after you drag and drop it into your design to open the settings options where you can select the image you want to use, adjust the size and spacing, add a URL to make the image a clickable link, insert Alt-Text, and more.

Video

Adding video to an email campaign message is a spam flag, so you can’t insert or embed a video into an email campaign using the TicketReach email builder tool. Instead, you can add a video image that will link to the video online.

Just drag and drop the video component into your design and click on it to open the settings options. Paste the video URL into the URL field. The email message will automatically display an image of your video to recipients, and when a recipient clicks on it, they’ll be taken to the URL to view the video. You can change the spacing in the video component settings.

Social

Add social media icons that link to your social media pages and profiles by dragging and dropping the Social component to your email design. Click on the component once it’s been added to your design to open the settings options where you can choose which social media icons to display, enter your corresponding social media URLs, and adjust size, spacing, shape, and alignment.

Add a drop-down menu to your email with multiple links using the Menu component. After you drag and drop the component into your email design, click on it in your email design to open the settings where you can enter the URLs and text you want to include in your menu. You can also adjust the colors, spacing, font, and more.

HTML

To insert HTML code into your email for advanced design, drag and drop the HTML component into your email layout. When you click on the component to open the settings, you’ll be able to enter your HTML code and adjust the component spacing.

Table

Drag and drop the Table component into your email design to add a table with rows and columns to your email design. Click on the component within your layout to open the settings where you can adjust the number of rows and columns, colors, borders, and more.

BLOCKS

The Blocks components enable you to add rows of content to your email message in eight different layouts.

Each of the block components works the same way as the Columns components that are available in the Content category. You must have a block or column component in your design in order to drag other types of components, such as text or images, into your design.

Drag and drop the block layout you want to use to the desired spot in your design so you can then add content in one or more columns. You can drag multiple block components to your design, and then drag text, image, or other components to the blocks to add content to them. Each block component that you drag to your design will be inserted as a new row in the design layout.

There are eight 1-column, 2-column, 3-column, and 4-column layouts to choose from. Select the one you want to use, and the email design on the right side of the screen will update automatically.

Once you select the column layout, you can make changes to how your design looks using the Column Properties tools. For example, you can set the column background and border colors, padding (i.e., space) between columns, and add images to columns.

BODY

The Body template editor section is where you set up global properties for your email message such as spacing, font size, etc. You can modify many of these settings within individual content and block components, but setting global properties up in a single place can speed up the design process.

The Body section is divided into four parts: General, Email Settings, Links, and Accessibility.

General

The General properties you can configure include: text color, background color, content width (i.e., single column width), content alignment, font, and text weight (regular or bold).

Email Settings

You can enter preheader text in this section. A preheader is the short summary text that follows the subject line when viewing an email from the inbox.

Set the color that you want links in your email message to be and if you want links to be underlined or not.

Accessibility

Enter the HTML title to set the HTML \ tag in the exported HTML.

IMAGES

TicketReach comes with a gallery of images you can add to your email campaigns.

Just type text to describe the image you’re looking for in the search box. When you find an image you like, drag and drop it into a block in your email design.

Click on the image in your design to edit it, enter Alt-Text, add a URL link, and adjust size and spacing.

UPLOADS

Select the Uploads category to upload your own images to use in your email campaign design.

If you’ve already uploaded an image to your TicketReach account, you can find it by scrolling through the displayed images or type text in the search box to find an image by name.

To upload a new image, just drag and drop it to the “Drop a new image here” area of the page, or click the UPLOAD IMAGE button to find and select the image to upload.

Once an image is uploaded, you can drag and drop it to your email design. Click on the image in the design to edit the spacing, size, Alt-Text, link, and more.
